Beautiful forest park. Popular with families due to a large play area, so if your dog isn’t to child friendly then best to keep on lead. There are many lakes and a river so some thing for the swimmers. There are a few poop bins but they can be hard to find. There is a dog friendly coffee area. This is a gated park so get your timing if walking later in the day.
A hidden treasure. This lake has a rough track that goes halfway around the lake but it is a glorious lake experience. There are a large amount of swans and ducks, so recommended for dogs to be on lead. Parking, bins, picnic areas, playground and toilets - this could make a lovely stop if travelling.
This area is popular for both walkers, dippers, and small bist fishing. There is a 3.8k loop walk but the track does not go the full way around the lake and is completed by using the road ( not a busy road but still not quiet enough to let your dog run free). You can just stick to the path around the lake which is 2km making the return walk 4k to the car park. There are bins at 1k and 2k with bench seats in various location. There is a picnic area at the car park but no other facilities. This is a peaceful walk, idea for reflection but maybe best left to the humans as a bit dull for the dogs.
This is a top of the world experience with views of surrounding counties. There is a rough single track road that loops. There can be the odd car but they are also there to enjoy the view. Due to the elevation level the weather patterns can be changible, and it is very expose, so ensure you have the correct clothing. Great for letting your dog run free. This is bog land so there are holes and swampy areas so don’t let your dog run too far form the road. There are no facilities other than picnic benches but this is a treat not to be missed.
